Guest Speaker: Dan Schultz, Visiting Programmer in Residence, Knight-Mozilla FellowTopic: Designing an architecture around applications. Creating wireframes and architecture documents which could then be used to find a technical cofounder to launch their product together.

Thursday, November 14 - Attend one of the following Social Commerce Days events
- Live Tweet during the event using the event Hashtag #SUSocComm Hashtag to share information on the event.
- Share a photo of yourself with a W2O team member or speaker at one of the events and share using the the event Hashtag #SUSocComm
- 10:30am – 2:00pm: Open Office Hours in Legal Seafoods (Newhouse III). Students will be given an opportunity to network with one of the leading integrated marketing agencies in the field. Those with relevant industry goals will be able to have their resumes reviewed, ask questions of the W2O team and other key career-focused opportunities.
- 4:00pm – 6:00pm: Workshop focusing on using analytics in the field. Open to all SU students by sign up – deadline of 5pm on Monday, November 11th. For more information and to sign up
- 7:00pm – 8:00pm: Keynote Address – “An Unconventional Career Path… Preparing for a life of discovery and connection,” featuring Gary Grates, Principal of the Corporate & Strategy Teams at W2O, and opening with Mike D’Eredita, Professor of Practice at the iSchool. Held in the Herg (Newhouse III). Open to the entire SU community.

#RaceGlass - A Racing And Fitness App For Google Glass Slideshare
Over the remaining weeks of the semester we will be forming into one team with sub-groups or teams formed to support the winning Google Glass app for class - #RaceGlass - and prepare for a Kickstarter style re-launch.
The following examples were reviewed in class and used to demonstrate the opportunities for #RaceGlass to refine their pitch, multi-media and social resources before launching #RaceGlass.
#LoGo4Glass sub-groups or teams will be assigned to work on the following projects.
1. Develop a schedule, form sub-groups or teams, and assign tasks and deadlines for the following projects.
Architecture
Work with developer and visiting programmer in-residence Dan Schultz to refine and further design an architecture around the #RaceGlass applications to creating wireframes and architecture documents which could then be used to find a technical cofounder to launch their product together.
Video Demo - Create a variety of videos that reflect the #RaceGlass for experience. (several minute pitch demo, emotional demo, short form video, animation/simulation of app in action, interface demo)
Photography / Design - visualizations of interface, screen grabs, App in action, visualization of model, logo.
Integrated Social Campaign - Using the multi-media content above - develop an Integrated Social Campaign for #RaceGlass 2.0 relaunch. Develop roll-out to support kickoff campaign.
Individual Social Sharing of team collaboration / work in progress - Photos, Vine Videos, Links, etc. Using #RaceGlass Hashtag.
- Note - Congratulations! You have completed both the Hootsuite Certification Courseware and the Social Media Courseware.
- Be sure to go to "Profile" in the HootSuite U dashboard, view learning status, and issue certficate to get HootSuite Badge of accomplishmentand get listed in the Hootsuite Pro directory.
"Weekly Tasks"
Social Engagement - Post to Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and FacebookUse Hootsuite Pro to Post To Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. You will have to copy and paste your posts to also post on G+.
* Reminder - Hootsuite works with G+ Pages but does not work with G+ Profile. Google has not shared the API for G+ Profile.
Over the course of this week (Tues., November 12 through Mon., November 18) send at least 10 class related posts on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and G+. Posts not related to class do not count for the total.
Use the class Hashtag #NewhouseSM6 for class related posts on all platforms. Use #RaceGlass
Note: You cannot accrue the 10 posts on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and G+ posts at one time, on one day. They must be spread out over 5-7 days with a maxium of 2 posts on each platform per day counting towards your total. (Ex - 2 tweets / G+ posts per day x 7 = 14 or 4 tweets)
2. #RaceGlass App social shares (see Team Tasks):- G+/Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn - Post a with a link promoting #RaceGlass slideshare. Include the #RaceGlass Hashtag in your posts.
- Retweet / Reshare - RT on Twitter / Reshare on G+ / Post on Facebook & LinkedIn another student or team's #RaceGlass project update using the #RaceGlass Hashtag.
- Reply - @reply - to a different team's post on Twitter regarding their #RaceGlass share. Include the #RaceGlass project Hashtag. Add a positive comment, or a suggestion for improvement and/or ask a question.
- +1 and Comment on G+ - to a different team's post about their #RaceGlass team progress, leave a comment on G+ about a different classmates' post. Add a positive comment or a suggestion for improvement or ask a question. Include the #RaceGlass project Hashtag in your Tweet.
- Comment on LinkedIn to a different team's Glass App blog post shared on LinkedIn.
Use the #NewhouseSM6 and the #RaceGlass Hashtag.
- Like / Comment on Facebook to a different student or team's #RaceGlass App post shared on Facebook. Use the #RaceGlass projectHashtag.
3. Post one Vine or Instagram Video to practice creating shareable content. Read 4 story telling tips for making 6 second short films on vine for inspiration. Examples: "#RaceGlass Team meeting, #RaceGlass team project update, #RaceGlass team working, etc." Use hashtag #RaceGlass
Share your video to G+, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn.
